STMA scores three goals in the second half and defeats Bemidji with a clean sheet

August 29 – st. MICHAEL — Three second-period goals from the defending Division 8-3A champions put the Bemidji High School boys’ soccer team apart on Tuesday.

Maverick Knief, Josef Rohrer and Maksim Romanchuk scored for St. Michael’s Albertville, resulting in a 4-0 victory over the Lumberjacks.

Alex Hernandez scored from a corner kick in the 14th minute to give the Knights a 1-0 halftime lead. Kneefe crossed in the 49th minute, then Rohrer gave STMA a 3-0 lead in the 61st minute. Romanchuk added a late insurance goal in the 77th minute.

BHS second year goaltender Kellen Hoyer stopped nine shots.
