Congolese pivot arrives from Póvoa AC
Christian Moga is Sporting’s reinforcement for the 2023/2024 season, the Lisbon club announced this Thursday on its official page, after yesterday, the Póvoa AC, the club he comes from, confirmed the transfer.
The Congolese pivot arrives in Alvalade to make up for the departure of Danish Benjamin Jakobsen, who left Alvalade due to family problems.
In his first season with Póvoa AC, Moga scored 33 goals in 20 games and in 2023/2024 he scored 21 goals in eight matches.
Speaking to the Leonine media, the 25-year-old athlete assured that he was happy about the move to Sporting: “I’m very happy to be here. Sporting is a great club and it’s a big step in my career. I come to defend these colors in the best way possible”, he said, continuing:”It’s a very good evolution, in fact. I left Angola for Póvoa AC and in just over a year I arrived at Sporting. I’m very proud of my journey so far and for reaching this great club”, commented the handball player.
“I promise Sporting fans that I will do my best with the aim of winning every game and every competition”, he said.
In the opposite direction, Eduardo Almeida, Sporting’s young center, heads to Póvoa AC on loan until the end of the season.
