Ring’s two goals lead York girls soccer

NEW CASTLE, Maine — Scarlett Ring scored twice as the York High School girls’ soccer team beat Lincoln Academy, 4-1, on Saturday in a Division II South contest.

Gabby Galbadis had one goal and one assist for the Wildcats, while Isabelle Young also scored. Assist for York Vida Piper.

DURHAM – Sophomore Kate Michaud, assisted by Aleska Alcocer, scored the only goal of the game in the Division II match.

SALEM — Owen Janetos’ Ryan Zumbach scored the winning goal in overtime for Winnaconnet (3-1-1) in this Division I game.

The Warriors trailed 1-0 until TJ Enright tied the game in the 79th minute on a corner kick assisted by Tim Kohlmorgen.

York wins the six-team race

MINOT, Maine — Carrie Drake covered the 3.1-mile Minot Park course in 19 minutes, 39 seconds, leading York to a six-shot win.

York got 36 points, while Greeley got 46 and Cape Elizabeth got 70. who Coast (102), Wales (131) and Poland (152) ranked second to sixth, respectively.

York’s Molly Kenneally finished third overall in 21:54, while Madeline Hutchins (seventh, 22:32) and Karianna Holstrom (eighth, 23:01) rounded out the top 10.

York Wheel Gear finished fourth overall with a time of 18 minutes and 23 seconds. The first of four consecutive Wildcats to cross the finish line. He was followed by Ken Hermawan (fifth, 18:38), Landon Morrison (sixth, 18:42), and Hayden Atkinson (seventh, 18:44).
