Vítor Murta revealed what Seba Pérez said to the Braga-Boavista referee and what earned him the second yellow card in the match.
Vítor Murta, president of Boavista, revealed that Seba Pérez said “in the Champions League you wouldn’t show yellow” to Artur Soares Dias, “admittedly one of the best Portuguese referees”.
“We can only hope that your decision will become jurisprudence and be taken as an example by your peers”, he wrote, questioning whether “all approaches of this kind will receive the same treatment”, he added, in a post on social media.
The Colombian midfielder saw a yellow card, protested with Artur Soares Dias and then saw another yellow card, being sent off in the first half of the Braga-Boavista (4-1), match on the sixth round of the I League.
Vítor Murta’s message:
“Proud of this group! Artur Soares Dias is recognized as one of the best Portuguese referees. Therefore, we can only hope that his decision will become jurisprudence and be taken as an example by his peers. Seba Pérez was sent off for saying “in the Champions League you wouldn’t show yellow” . Therefore, all approaches of this type taken by a player from any other team must now receive the same treatment. We will see if this happens.”
