New Boston Celtics assistant coach Sam Cassel visits Derrick White for practice

New Boston Celtics Assistant coach (and part of Celtics championship team in 2008) Sam Castle Visited the Celtics rookie starting guard Derrick White This offseason in Colorado native White to spend some time with Boston floor general for his offseason training.

Cassel was there to begin preparing to coach the Celtics point guard ahead of the team’s 2023 training camp, which is set to begin in a few weeks. According to coach White, the plan was to introduce the ball club’s offensive line for the 2023-24 season and find out what coaching style White preferred as a player.

That coach, Marcus Mason, recently talked about Castle’s workouts and the University of Colorado scholar in an interview with CLNS Media reporter Bobby Manning on an episode of the “Garden Report” podcast.
