With all of the commotion of the MLB trade deadline dying down, one Mets prospect was sure to get off on the right foot with his new organization.

Ryan Clifford, the OF/1B that New York acquired from the Houston Astros in the Justin Verlander trade (along with OF Drew Gilbert), hit a two-run home run in his first at-bat with the Brooklyn Cyclones on Thursday night.

Still just 20 years old, the 6-foot-3, 200-pound lefty now has 19 home runs on the season playing in both Single-A and High-A.

Clifford ranks No. 6 on the 2023 Mets top prospect list, according to MLB Pipeline, and has an ETA to the majors of 2026. If he keeps hitting the way he has at every level, fans could see him in Queens a bit sooner.
