Kernel girls’ soccer improved to 7-0 on the season

SEPTEMBER 4 – BOX ELDER, SD – The Mitchell High School girls’ soccer team improved to 7-0 on the season with a 7-0 win Saturday on the road at Douglas/Rapid City Christian/New Underwood.

Mia Mullenmeister is ranked second in the latest Class AA Girls’ Coaches Poll, scoring three goals, bringing Mullenmeister’s total goals for the year to 20, while Taryn Thomas has two goals and two assists. Kenzie Kyle scored a goal and an assist, and eighth grader Isabella Husemann added an assist.

Tenley Peterson scored another clean sheet, Mitchell’s fourth of the season. For this year, the Kernels outscored their opponents 31-6.

Mitchell plays in Watertown at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, September 5th before returning home to host Huron on Thursday, September 7th.

BOX ELDER, SD – Thanks to four first-half goals, Douglas/Rapid City Christian/New Underwood cruised to a 6-0 victory over Mitchell on Saturday in the boys’ soccer game.

The Kernels (1-4-1) will take on Watertown at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, September 5 on the road.
