Águia could not have found a more accessible opponent to achieve a return to victory
Still licking the wounds of the defeat against Sporting, Benfica could not have found a more accessible opponent to complete their return to winning ways. Candoso was very easy prey for the team led by Mário Silva who, even without setting a strong pace, won 15-1.
The 2 goals in the first minute were the trigger for the victory by such impressive numbers. Highlights include the three Reds who signed hat tricks: Arthur, Rocha and Bruno Cintra. Candoso’s first shot at Léo Gugiel’s goal came only in the 14th minute and the most celebrated moment was Ricardo Almeida’s save from a penalty taken by Rocha. The goal of honor, scored by Gonçalo Figueiredo, came precisely with the last shot of the match. The Vimaranenses have already conceded 52 goals in a season that is expected to be long, painful and with their destiny set.
