1.Prepare Yourself Physically and Mentally

If you want to take badminton as your career or want to play this game more frequently than usual, you must first prepare your body. 

Look, badminton is such a game where you need to move your body all the time, and you have to have that much stamina and fitness. 

Otherwise, you are going to face several injuries right from the word go. Eventually, your career will come to an end in a quick time.

I suggest consulting some experts to build up the muscles and fitness required to play badminton.

On the other hand, you must prepare your brain to play this game in the long run. If you don’t like to play too fast games like badminton, better don’t consider this as your career.

Remember, before you start playing every time you should warm-up properly.

2.Learn the Basic Rules and Terms 

After getting physical fitness, the second most vital step you need to take is to learn the basics of this game. 

Learn the different terms, get introduced to the equipment like badminton racket, shuttlecock, net, etc. 

Know the rules. Initially, you don’t have to be the master of badminton. Just know the basics rules to get things started. 

Get introduced to the court, the differences between playing singles and doubles, scoring basics, fault basics, etc.

Next, select the proper costume. Choosing the suitable outfit is not that hard. Just make sure you are following the standard dress code.

You are physically and mentally fit, you know the basic badminton rules and having the right gear for the game. 

Now, it’s time to start learning some basic skills to play the game properly.

Again, don’t try to be the master of the game right from the beginning. Learn the necessary skills first, go to the court and start playing; eventually, you will begin to master different shots later.

In general, you have to learn the basic techniques to attack and defense first. 

Getting the footwork right should be the topmost priority. As badminton is a fast-paced game, you need to be on the move all the time. However, it’s not like jogging and sprinting. You have to chase the shuttlecock, jump, go to the corner of the court, move to the center, etc. now and then.

After that, learn how to grip the badminton racket. Begin with an essential forehand grip and backhand grip. 

Then start learning different shots.

First, learn how to serve. No matter if you play singles or doubles, you need to learn the basics of serving.

  • Underarm backhand serve.
