Anthony Richardson among Colts seven captains for 2023

He Indianapolis Colts Players voted for their team captains for the 2023 season, with the group of seven players announced Thursday.

In a mix of young and old, the Colts’ captains list shouldn’t come as a surprise. Only two of them are entering their first season with the “C” on their chest, one of whom is a rookie quarterback. Anthony Richardson.

Head coach Shane Steichen talked about what it means for a rookie to be chosen captain.

“I think it’s big. It just shows what the team has thought about it. I mean there was no favoritism; these guys were the votes of him and they voted him to be one of the seven best captains,” Steichen told the media on Thursday. “I’m excited for him to get that honor. I think it’s a great honor as a rookie. Getting that really says a lot about what the team thinks of him.”
